Vocabulary
Ocean- An immense body of salt water which covers about 3/4 of the earth's surface
Peninsula- a piece of land almost surrounded by water or projecting out into a body of water
Isthmus- a narrow strip of land with sea on either side, forming a link between two larger areas of land
Inlet- A thin strip of water between two bodies of land, an indentation in the shoreline
Beach- An area covered by sand or pebbles on the coast by the water
Coast- The edge of an area of land by water
1. The Rix lab was where we did our Journal Entries.It was our hang out area and where we watched all our documentaries. Some of the instructors even presented slideshows here.
2. The Life jacket place/docks is where we got life jackets for boat trips and was also a meeting place where we had to meet for water activities.
3. Rix Lower Lab was a lab where we examined the plankton
4. Buchanan lodge were the cabins we stayed at
5. The traffic circle where we met up for some activities like when we went to Pachena bay. Is also a tsunami safe zone part at Bamfield but it doesn't protect you from a tsunami. Its just the highest ground on Bamfield
6. The Cafeteria was where we ate breakfast lunch dinner
7. The whale lab is where we examined organisms such as anemones during our own experiment.
